European Leaders Condemn US Action as ‘Coercion’
European leaders including Emmanuel Macron accused Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, following the visa restrictions targeted individuals who have been central to campaigns to introduce legislation governing American tech companies.
“For far too long, ideologues in Europe have led coordinated campaigns to pressure US companies to punish American viewpoints they oppose,” stated a senior US official in a social media post. “This government will not stand for these egregious acts of extraterritorial censorship.”
